ALIGN Online Platform

ALIGN is a series of Yoga and movement therapy videos designed to enhance postural alignment and proprioception in an easy to follow and approachable way. Of course this does not replace the need for a teacher, as the teacher will be able to tell you a) if you're doing it right and b) if you need any modifications or corrections. The videos are short demonstrations of poses and they are meant to be watched until the end before you attemp to practice them. Some props might be needed, though I'll try to offer as many options and alternatives as possible. 

Upper back and shoulders

The first series of videos of ALIGN are meant to address common issues and complaints regarding stiffness of the upper back and shoulders. So many clients and friends complain about these key areas. Whether or not technology ("text neck", anyone?) might have aggravated these issues, the fact is that time and gravity naturally act upon us, constantly pulling (or pushing?) us down and creating that undesired "hunch back". To counteract these postural tendencies, I am offering 6 simple, basic postures that can be practiced every day, or at least 3 times a week for optimal results.

Each posture should be held for 30 seconds to 1 minute on each side, except for the chest openers over the block, and the last pose, Savasana, which can be maintained for up to 10 minutes or so.
